Job Description

ROLE TITLE: HEAD OF PROCUREMENTREPORTING LINE: Head of Procurement will report directly to the Director of Operations.DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:The Procurement Department is a function within Operations and is responsible for developing and managing the supply chain, and procuring components and equipment for the manufacturing, assembly and delivery of all Artemis Technologies products includingthe Artemis eFoiler® and Artemis Technologies vessel parts. It is also responsible for warehouse and stock control, for the supply chain systems and processes, including ERP, and logistics and compliance, to meet the strategic requirements of a global manufacturingbusiness.THE ROLE:As Head of Procurement, you provide the strategic development, direction, and management of the company’s Procurement function, to procure the components, equipment, and facilities to support the manufacturing, assembly and delivery of all Artemis Technologiesproducts, including the electric foiling drives and high-speed vessels.You will have overall responsibility and accountability for the procurement function, including people, performance and budgetary management. In pursuit of this you will develop goals, metrics, timebound objectives and strategic plans for the function anddrive efficient, lean, and streamlined procurement operations to support the operations team and wider business.The role has tactical responsibility for implementing the procurement strategy and operational goals, to exceed internal and external customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, maximising efficiency, optimising production levels and drivingoperational excellence.You will be required to ensure uniform practices, processes, and behaviours across the business, delivering synergy, compliance, and consistency. This position is responsible for purchasing, MRP, inventory control, international and domestic logistics andcompliance.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability, thereby creating a commercially viable, global supply chain.
  • Managing all procurement and buying, including supplier approvals and audits, project inventory procurement, capital procurement, non-inventory procurement and project cost-down delivery.
  • In conjunction with Legal Counsel and Finance, lead negotiations for pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to manage risks and secure advantageous agreements.
  • Establishing and managing procurement policy and procedures, with a focus on continuous improvement in the performance of the function.
  • Implementing, developing and maintaining procurement systems, including ERP and any other identified system, to include functionality such as MRP, warehousing, stock control, and cost-down tools.
  • Establishing and managing the warehouse and stock control, including managing goods inwards, outwards and in transit, stock takes and audits, the kitting out function, and quarantining non- conforming stock.
  • Implement BOM cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and service levels.
  • Managing inbound and outbound logistics and compliance including key inventory data e.g. Commodity codes .
  • Collaborate with finance teams to develop budgets, track spending, and provide forecasts.
  • Supporting Finance and Sales on custom & excise and export licences and coordinating shipping documentation.
  • Mentor and manage a team of procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
  • Setting and reporting department and individual KPIs.
  • Attending team and 1-1 meetings and fulfil reporting requirements as required by Artemis Technologies.
  • Ensuring compliance with Artemis Technologies policies and procedures.
  • Building good working relationships across Artemis Technologies.
  • Contributing to shaping a culture that reflects Artemis Technologies Values and Guiding Principles and enables the company to achieve its goals.
  • Foster relationships with suppliers and industry peers through networking opportunities.
  • Encourage innovation by exploring new technologies and sustainable approaches.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONEducation/Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) in a relevant engineering/manufacturing discipline or equivalent NVQ Level 7 qualification.
  • Fellow or Chartered Member of an industry related Professional Body.
  • 2+ years’ experience of leading a procurement team and function.
  • Demonstrable experience with a proven track record in strategic procurement leadership delivering effective procurement strategies, policies, processes, and systems.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level.
  • Experience of procuring complex systems-based products of 10-250 units per annum.
Preferred:
  • Extensive in-depth composite or mechanical engineering experience.
  • ERP implementation/development experience (Dynamics 365)
  • Familiar with project management tools – MS Project, TeamWork, Prima Vera or Smartsheet.
  • Knowledge about maritime and composite construction.
