Job Description

Reed Education are currently supporting a large secondary school in East London with their recruitment for a Deputy Headteacher for September 2024.This role will be joining a high performing, well-reputed local school and working in partnership with an established, successful Headteacher leading a strong SLT & teaching team. You will be the lead for SEND, Behaviour & Welfare as well as the VocationalCurriculum. This includes acting as DSL and line management of the Assistant Head team.Day-to-day of the role:

  • Support the Headteacher and governors with overall school management and leadership, particularly in terms of raising performance & standards, strategic planning & financial decisions.
  • Formulate the monitoring and evaluation process, promoting an inclusive, nurturing learning environment underpinned by mutual respect and wellbeing.
  • Lead the monitoring and evaluation process and implement school improvement strategies including progress data and target setting.
  • Act as DSL, including leading the SEND Department and oversee the school pastoral and behaviour strategy.
  • Develop and maintain the school performance and reputation within the wider community, with partners and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher status & Degree
  • Proven success in teaching career and strong leadership experience at Secondary level.
  • Demonstrable experience of motivational performance management.
  • Experience of leading a curriculum area and/or strong SEND provision management.
  • Ability to evidence impact on pastoral, wellbeing, behaviour, attendance levels in a Secondary school.
  • Understand and understanding of data analysis and the ability to use data to set targets for improvement across the school.
School visits welcome.Interviewing end of February. Start date September 2024.
