Job Description

The VacancyWe have an exciting opportunity for a cohort of Apprentices to join the Belfast Hub within Legal Support Services as part of the Apprenticeship Career Excellence "ACE" Programme.This is an earn-while-you-learn apprenticeship, with the chance to gain a Level 2 professional qualification in Business Administration with the Belfast Metropolitan College. The successful candidate will also gain practical experience across our PracticeAdministration and Document Production Teams.Why applyThis programme suits a motivated school leaver or career changer who is eager to kick start their career. As an Apprentice, you will work within our highly regarded Document Production and Practice Administration Teams, where you will get maximum exposureto our processes, systems and resources, enabling you to develop the key skills, knowledge and behaviours required for a successful career.Throughout the apprenticeship you will have the opportunity to learn business skills, develop your professional network, gain practical experience and work on exciting projects with experienced professionals who are dedicated to your development and progression.We believe in giving our people maximum exposure and a variety of experience, as well as the opportunity to work with people who will guide you, nurture you and inspire you to achieve great things.As an Apprentice in the Legal Support Services Team, you will get experience of:

  • Processing expenses, invoices and payments received, ensuring that the correct charge codes are used and follow up action taken where appropriate
  • Preparation of client registration documents, engagement/assignments letters, conflict checks and AML
  • Raising billing guides and assisting with the billing process
  • Time recording
  • Property Searches using the Land Registry portal
  • Utility searches using our electronic search agents
  • Electronic filing
  • Upkeep and maintenance of the firms Interaction database including inputting business cards/data as appropriate
  • Assisting Legal PAs with client events
  • Updating Alerters/Blogs/Website
  • Booking meeting rooms
  • Conducting research
  • Editing and creating documents across the key Microsoft Office packages
During the programme, we would expect you to:
  • Complete daily assigned work and take advantage of opportunities to develop your skill set
  • Ensure all deadlines and responsibilities for Belfast Metropolitan College course requirements are met
  • Display an appropriate level of professionalism at all times when engaging with your team and customers as well as wider Belfast office colleagues
  • Actively contribute to team culture by attending team events and collaborating with colleagues on larger projects
You will have...
  • GCSEs in Maths, English and ICT in Grade C (6-9) and above
  • Good understanding of Microsoft office packages (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • A good understanding of our firm and our values
  • Demonstrate a proactive and positive approach to work
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Drive and determination for a career in professional services
