Job Description

HEADING: Help shape the future of aerospace SUBHEADING: Skilled Aircraft Fitters / Sheetmetal Workers Earn £24,874 rising to £27,265 plus attractive shift premiums and benefitsOur client, Spirit AeroSystems, is one of the worlds largest manufacturers of aerostructures for commercial airplanes, defence platforms, and business/regional jets.Spirit recently acquired Northern Irelands premier aerospace company and is ramping up its award-winning, composite wing production for an industry-leading, commercial aircraft programme.Manpower are working in partnership with Spirit to increase the size of the workforce across Belfast and after an initial period (typically 13 weeks) with Manpower you will be offered the opportunity to transfer to Spirits permanent workforceWe are now recruiting Qualified Sheetmetal Workers, Coach Builder, Coppersmith, Aircraft Technician, Mechanical & Maintenance Fitter, Panel Beater, Metal Pattern Maker, Toolfitter, Car Body Operator, Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Boiler Maker, Machinist, PipeFitter, Diesel Fitter, Plumbers.To join this growing family, youll have:

  • completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship;
  • at least one of the following:
  • City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2
  • NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline
  • equivalent qualification; and
  • preferably aircraft-fitting experience in the last four years.
The role involves checking kit parts to drawing schedules, manufacturing a range of aerospace hardware to a high standard and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.Youll also need to be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and be happy to work a range of shifts plus overtime, as required, at any of Spirits Northern Ireland sites.While youre on assignment with Spirit, well offer an attractive package of pay and benefits including a 36-hour working week, 36 days of annual holiday allowance, attractive overtime rates.
