Job Description

Job Title: Prototype Technician - EngineeringLocation: BlackwoodSalary: Up to £29,000 DPOE + benefitsHours: Full time. Monday - Friday days regularKey Responsibilities:

  • Work with Lead technician to pre-plan builds.
  • TIG welding of thin wall material. (essential).
  • Control storage and use of materials for prototype / series production
  • Carry out builds to procedure to give a high level of quality and to the timing.
  • Report and hold meetings feeding back learning from the build.
  • Prepare test samples and systems.
  • Effective control of the maintenance process and activities as related to the prototype & production facilities delivering minimizing lost time due to break downs.
  • Working closely with all personnel in support of pro-active resolution of equipment operationalissues & continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring maintenance activities comply with the company policy and standard operating procedures, whilst maintaining safety standards.
  • Ensuring effective reporting to the Prototype supervisor via accurately documenting daily/weekly events.
Requirements
  • Maintain a high standard of Health and Safety based upon safe working practices and support environmental initiatives.
  • Minimum education level required- ONC or equivalent.
  • Multi-skilled time served technician.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems is an advantage.
  • Experience or knowledge of machine programming is an advantage.
  • TIG welding of thin wall material. mandatory.
  • Ability to read an engineering drawing.
  • Willing and able to travel at short notice if required.
