Highly Specialist Speech and Language TherapistHours-30 hours per weekSalary-£45,150pa FTE DoEWe are looking for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the MDT at Cygnet Hospital Beckton, Hansa Ward.Hansa Ward at Cygnet Hospital Beckton is a 13 bed high dependency complex care service for women with learning disabilities, associated complex needs and who may have behaviours that challenge. The ward accepts emergency referrals and the team are experiencedin managing them quickly and efficiently to ensure the transition for the service user is as smooth as possible. Hansa Ward, provides a high quality person-centred in-patient service. The multi-disciplinary team (MDT) work collaboratively with individualsto provide a holistic, comprehensive assessment and care plan that promotes recovery with a view to discharge to the least restrictive setting.Job RoleThe role involves working with people to maximise their potential and to enable them to enjoy the best possible quality of life via the delivery of an evidence-based SLT service that promotes effective functional communication and social skills developmentthrough collaborative working in an inclusive communication environment. You will be working directly with individuals to assess their communication needs and provide input into their therapeutic programmes that formulate part of their wider care pathwayfrom admission to discharge. As part of a full on-site multi-disciplinary team, you will work with all staff across the hospital to support the implementation of the therapeutic approach demonstrating a range of skills, knowledge and abilities.You will also ideally have completed post-basic dysphagia training and have experience in managing a dysphagia caseload.Candidate ProfileWe are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with:
