Job Description

QA officer required to join an expanding and growing company that is a leading name in their industry. The company is part of a larger global group of companies that produces profits of close to £500million and employs 10,000+ staff around the world.The South Wales site is one of the leading companies in Europe in their field and prides itself on the innovation it can provide its clients.You will work closely with the head of quality and take on a leadership role in the operation of the quality assurance department. You will have regular involvement in the quality management system for the site and help to ensure the business operates arobust QA system.QA officer duties will include:

  • The management of investigations including root cause, product impact and CAPA
  • The issuing of batch documentation, and release of batches
  • GMP document and batch manufacturing record review
  • The management of customer complaints and customer regulatory questions
  • Management of the Internal Audit program assuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Representing the company and taking a lead during visits, audits and regulatory inspections
  • Routine approval of suppliers and materials
  • The preparation, approval and distribution of standard operating procedures, company policies and other master documents.
  • The management of the change control process
  • Active involvement in Quality Risk Management including the HACCP and TACCP teams
  • The monitoring of KPIs and metrics and reporting back to senior management on the adherence to these
  • To ensure effective communication, cooperation and cohesion between quality assurance and other company departments.
To apply for the QA officer role, you will need:
  • Experience in working in a quality assurance department in a manufacturing, scientific or technical environment (preferably a highly regulated environment such as pharmaceuticals, food, etc.)
  • A good understanding of GMP and quality management systems
  • Experience in using quality tools and techniques such as Root Cause Analysis and CAPA
  • Knowledge of HACCP and TACCP is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formats
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory / team leading capacity is desirable
