Supported Living WorkerLocation: Beare Green, DorkingSalary range: £10.18 - £10.88 per hour (FTE £19,580 - £20,932)Are you looking for a rewarding permanent role supporting adults with additional needsFull training and mentoring will be givenThe successful candidate will be based at a supported living house at Beare Green, near Dorking for five younger adult tenants who have a range of special needs including autism, complex learning difficulties and some severe and challenging behaviour. Theircompassionate and resilient team support them to live a semi-independent, fulfilling life.The Trust are looking for a number of caring and empathetic people to join their team. Experience is not essential as you will receive an excellent, comprehensive induction programme and ongoing support and training. Your pay range will rise after 2 yearsand completion of a L3 QCF diploma in health and social care (subject to satisfactory probation and appraisal). The cost of the diploma is covered by the Trust. The role is for 37 hours per week on a rota basis including alternate weekends for 52 weeks ofthe year, including sleep-ins as required. Payment for sleep-ins (currently £53.43) is by submission of timesheet.You will support the tenants to do the same daily activities that you might do in your own life, including cooking, cleaning and shopping for essentials. They also like to access the community and you may be accompanying them to visit local facilities orattractions, attend college or on trips further afield. This supported living house is their home and the tenants like to relax and enjoy their leisure time.Sometimes the tenants may get frustrated, anxious and emotional and you will need to guide them through it by helping them to manage their feelings and behaviour. Comprehensive training and mentoring means the Trust will equip you with the confidence tosupport these young adults and provide safe and effective intervention if needed. If you are recruited, you will be required to complete Team Teach positive behaviour support training before employment. Physical and mental resilience and a can do attitudeare essential. Own transport is essential due to location.This supported living home is located in Beare Green, Surrey.
