Tarkas Cafe is a busy and thriving cafe at Baythorne Hall on the Essex/Suffolk border close to the towns of Clare and Haverhill. We are a friendly team, serving breakfast and lunch 6 days a week. Our opening hours are typically 9am - 5pm and for much ofthis time the café is full and extremely busy.We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our excellent team to ensure we continue to offer an exceptional experience for our customers and make improvements where necessary. Candidates must have a minimum of two years’ experience within the hospitalityindustry, ideally with some managerial experience.As the Assistant Manager, you’ll be expected to:- Ensure that the highest level of customer service is delivered at all times.- Work with the Cafe Manager to manage seating plans.- Work with the Cafe Manager to train and develop the front of house team.- Create and maintain a positive and friendly atmosphere for our guests.- Create social media content and update regularly.- Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant.- Liaise with suppliers and work with the Cafe Manager to ensure best pricing, and place orders when required.- Manage the front of house team when the Cafe Manager is absent.- Other duties as assigned by the Cafe Manager.You will need to have:- Experience within the hospitality industry, ideally within a management role.- Excellent interpersonal skills for diplomatically handling staff and customers- Cooperation and teamworking skills- The ability to lead and motivate a team of staff alongside the Cafe Manager.- The ability to cope under pressure in a fast-paced environment.- Good business awareness for achieving successful performance.- An awareness of hygiene, and health and safety regulations.- Strong planning and organisational skills to run a streamlined operation.- Problem-solving ability, to resolve issues as they arise.- A flexible and hands-on approach to work.Permanent Full-Time - 40hrs per week, to include a weekend day.Additional benefits:- Share of daily tips- Free lunch provided- Family discount- Up to 20% discount with other businesses at Baythorne Hall- Company pensionJob Types: Permanent, Full-timeSalary: £22,000.00-£23,000.00 per yearBenefits:Company pension
