Virtual reality has been around for a while. In fact, it was 1956 when the first VR Machine was patented.Since then it’s mainly been used for gaming and educational purposes. But now, the quality and complexity are advancing at such a rapid rate. VR, AR & MR are being used to solve all sorts of commercial challenges and across various industries. A specialist, digital commerce company, has developed a VR SaaS product that combines Virtual reality and Data for the retail industry. Their clients can visualise displays, merchandising plans, store layouts and packaging. It’s already used by global brands such as Coca-cola, Lego, Unilever, Loreal, Mars and Superdrug.The data analytics element acts as a powerful commercial tool that can predict customer shopping trends and how those customers interact with those products. Given the COVID situation, the way customers shop is going to change dramatically, meaning retailers need to be ahead of the curve.As it happens, this company are hiring, for a Web Developer, which can be based remotely. You’ll just need to be head over to Bath a couple of times per month for team catch-ups if you’d prefer to be in the office full time (when things are back to "normal"), no problem. You’ll be part of a small team of 5, working on their online asset management portal and VR SaaS solution. Building new features, identifying bugs and having a key input into ensuring the platform is robust and scalable. You’ll also develop prototypes and come up with new ideas - innovation is openly encouraged here.You’ll be combining web and software development with 3D and data, solving unique challenges daily, so if problem-solving if your thing, you’ll fit right in here.In terms of technical experience, you’ll have experience with C#, asp.net (ideally asp.net core), some JavaScript and have some exposure to 3D. You’ll be a trouble-shooter, enjoy debugging and building out new features.
