Job Description

Advanced Paediatric Audiologist/ Deputy Head of Children’s AudiologyBand 7 (£38,890 – £44,503)1.0FTE, 37.5hrs per week (part-time options may be considered for the suitable candidate)St Martins Hospital, BathWe are looking for a Clinical Scientist in Audiology or a Registered Audiologist to work with the Head of Children’s Audiology in leading and managing the paediatric audiology service in Bath. We are a diagnostic paediatric audiology service, based in Children’s Community Services under Virgin Care, delivering an NHS contract which covers Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), West Wiltshire and the East Mendip area of Somerset. We also work in partnership with our local acute trust, the Royal United Hospital in delivering a hearing aid service for preschool children. Over the last 3 years, the service has undergone a significant modernisation, and is now regarded by the CCG as a highly performing service.   • Feel ProudThis is a senior role within the service and the post holder will have line-management and clinical supervision responsibility, as well as holding a clinical caseload. The role also involves making a significant contribution to service development, including leading particular work streams and audits.Feel the DifferenceYou will be a Clinical Scientist in audiology who is registered with HCPC, or an audiologist registered with RCCP who has a postgraduate qualification in audiology. It is expected that you will have successfully completed the British Academy of Audiology Higher Training Scheme (HTS), or Certificate of Audiological Competence (CAC), or Scientist Training Programme (STP) or be able to demonstrate equivalent specialist clinical experience.You will have previous line management and supervision experience and be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and skills in paediatric audiology, with significant experience in assessing and managing preschool children, including complex cases.
