Job Description

Its a really exciting time to join us as Sovereign have joined forces with Network Homes to form SNG (Sovereign Network Group). Together we provide over 82,000 homes and invest in communities across London and the South of England – our purpose being toprovide quality affordable homes and places that people love for generations.Weve got a fantastic opportunity for a Training and Commissioning Officer to join our Employment and Skills team to oversee and manage a comprehensive training offer that meets the needs of Employment and Skills customers to support them to move into workor better work.What youll be doingThis is an incredibly rewarding role in which youll organise, co-ordinate and commission high quality training for our customers. Its a real opportunity to help to drive and shape our employment service in the community and contribute to the delivery ofour Thriving Communities strategy. Responsibilities will include:

  • Organising, co-ordinating and/or commissioning employability workshops, functional skills and vocational training programmes to support our customers
  • Enhancing our service offer by establishing an effective network of support agencies and providers who will contribute to the delivery of a high quality training offer for our customers
  • Providing effective advice, guidance and administrative support for all customer training and employability programmes
  • Utilising a combination of digital, phone and direct delivery to maximise engagement, support and progression for customers on training programmes
  • Where required, commissioning bespoke or specialist training ensuring that all due diligence and contract requirements are met and that we achieve high quality training that maximises value for money
What we need from youYou should bring previous experience in a similar role with a background in organising, procuring and commissioning training courses being advantageous. Ideally, youll have experience of working in the Employability, training or education sectors or anyother similar relevant sector.Youll be someone who has a high attention to detail with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks, maintaining an agile approach to your work. Youll also have:· Strong administration and IT skills· Experience in co-ordinating tender exercises including conducting due diligence checks, creating tender documents, evaluating tender responses and awarding contracts· The ability to build positive, effective and lasting relationships with a variety of stakeholders as well as our residents· A strong customer focus, delivering solutions to meet our customers changing needs and expectations· Excellent communication skills to enable clear engagement with both internal and external stakeholders· Any experience in delivering training courses would be advantageous but isnt essentialYou will be based in our Basingstoke office with some travel required across our geography.You will need a full UK driving license and access to your own transport.What youll receive from us
