Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Finance Systems team as a Systems Accountant on a 12 month fixed term basis. Youll be based in our modern head office in Basingstoke with the flexibility for a blend of remote working.As a leading Housing Association, Sovereign is committed to providing quality, affordable homes and services within sustainable, successful communities. Were led by our values and driven by a strong social purpose, placing our residents at the heart ofeverything we do.The roleReporting into our Agresso Systems Manager, youll be responsible for continually developing, improving and maintaining the Agresso system and associated core system processes, controls and performance. Youll ensure that the finance systems are adequateto support the developing financial reporting requirements of the business and that were using the system as effectively as possible with the data held within it being maintained as accurately as possible.Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading financial systems developments and upgrades from developing project plans and documenting processes, to user acceptance testing and implementation
  • Providing 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th line technical support to the Finance team and Self-Service users of the Agresso system
  • Managing successful implementation of new interfaces to/from the U4BW system and changes to interfaces with key business systems such as Invoice Scanning, Uniclass and Active H
  • Running feedback sessions with internal users - planning, writing and delivering user training to ensure effective use of the system in accordance with approved financial regulations
  • Developing and providing systems use reports required to manage transaction processing activity
What were looking forYou should have proven experience in a similar role with responsibility for developing and maintaining finance systems and interfaces with other systems. Ideally, youll have experience with Agresso (Unit 4) and a background in financial accounting and /or hold a relevant financial qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACA, ACCA). You should also have:
  • Experience with troubleshooting to 4th Line and providing resolutions to system users
  • An understanding of financial accounting and processes
  • Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
  • A logical and organised approach to work, effectively prioritising tasks and managing these to deadlines
  • Excellent IT and reporting skills, including advanced MS Excel and SQL for reporting and finance system development
  • A good understanding of the Procure to Pay process
  • Previous experience using Unit4 Business World/Agresso would be advantageous
