Position: Senior Finance Manager Location: Basingstoke/ Hybrid working 3 days a week, 2 days from home.Salary: Up to £70,000Reporting to the Finance Director Our client has recently won a number of prestigious new accounts and are now looking to recruit a Senior Finance Manager to join their highly successful team. This is an award-winning company that offers excellent training and flexible working.Key Responsibilities:* Month end reporting: Manage the month-end financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results. Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements and providing detailed analysison key variances.* Forecasting: Develop and maintain financial forecasts and models to support business planning and decision-making. Monitor financial performance against forecasts and identify areas of risk or opportunity.* Business Planning: Contribute to the development of annual budgets and long-term financial plans. Collaborate with various departments to align financial goals with business objectives.* Business partnering/stakeholder management: Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, providing financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to drive business performance. Build strong relationships and effectively communicate financial informationto non-financial stakeholders.* Helping manage the finance function: Support the overall management of the finance function, including financial operations, compliance, and risk management. Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.* Line management: Initially manage one employee, providing guidance, coaching, and support. Oversee their work, provide performance feedback, and promote their professional development. As the team grows, assume additional line management responsibilities.* Creation of management reports: Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics, trends, and areas requiring attention. Provide insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.* Helping with Pricing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze pricing strategies and support pricing decisions. Evaluate pricing models, profitability analysis, and competitive landscape to maximize revenue and profitability.* Assisting with collation of information for various submissions e.g. VAT returns, R&D Tax Claims, Audit requests etc.Desired Skills:* Fully qualified accountant: Hold a recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.* Forecasting: Strong experience in financial forecasting, including the ability to develop accurate models, analyze trends, and identify potential risks and opportunities.* Key Stakeholder management: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.* Dynamics 365: Proficiency in Dynamics 365 for financial management and reporting. SAP knowledge also preferred.* Financial Reporting & Analysis: Solid understanding of financial reporting principles, including the ability to prepare accurate and insightful financial statements and analysis.* Business Process Improvement: Proven track record in identifying process inefficiencies and implementing improvements to enhance financial operations.* Cashflow and Balance Sheet Management: Knowledge and experience in managing cash flow, working capital, and maintaining a healthy balance sheet.* Setting and Tracking of Key Performance Indicators: Ability to define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and evaluate financial performance and drive improvements.* Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for financial analysis, reporting, and presentation purposes.* People Management: Demonstrated experience in managing and developing teams, providing guidance, feedback, and fostering a positive work environment.Benefits25 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays), Birthday day off, Online discounts platform for major retailers, Employee Health Benefits, Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme (Octopus EV) and Cycle 2 Work Scheme, Discount Gym Membership, 2 Volunteer days ayear (to volunteer in their local community)
