Job Description

At Sovereign Housing Association we are driven by our social purpose where our residents are at the heart of everything we do. Sovereigns Development team is entering a new era, with an ambitious Investment Strategy that targets more homes, and better places.We are excited to share that we have an opportunity for a Project Director for regeneration. Reporting to our Chief Investment and Development Officer this role will include travel and hybrid working.The rolePrimarily working on one of our largest development programmes were looking for someone to lead the end-to-end process including analysis of Strategic Asset Management data, scoping the project, developing customer & stakeholder engagement, programme management,viability, and procurement routes. This role will be key in ensuring that the design, tenure mix, and amenity is driven by both the immediate needs of all customers while anticipating future customer demand and expectations.The regeneration area is made up of a collection of different housing developments from differing periods with varied architectural treatments and forms of construction, across the Basingstoke area.Key Accountabilities include:

  • Leading the development of high-quality regeneration proposals for investment appraisal and progression, ensuring that the vision for change is clear, the master-planning enables design and feasibility options, and the financial & investment evaluationis clear and comprehensive.
  • Managing the development of strong customer, community and stakeholder communication and engagement strategies that listen and respond to feedback, gain support and minimise the risks to successful delivery of regeneration projects.
  • Contributing to the strategic direction and overall regeneration vison, working with senior leaders and stakeholders to influence thinking and decision making.
  • Establishing and leading project teams ensuring that the required resources and expertise are secured, and that appropriate project management plans, financial controls and delivery tools are in place.
  • Overseeing the development of client briefs, working with colleagues across Sovereign to ensure that all technical, financial and customer and community elements are covered.
  • Lead on and manage land assembly, including leasehold, commercial buybacks, and CPO liaison with the Local Authority.
Knowledge & SkillsWere looking for someone with a thorough awareness and knowledge of principles and practices to be employed gained through comparable experience of development and/or estate regeneration.An understanding of financial modelling and risk appraisal for long-term multi-tenure models, together with commercial viability in development schemes and how to secure best value from our assets.Were looking for someone who is committed to meaningful community engagement and listening to the voice of our customers and the wider communities.Membership of appropriate professional body by examination e.g., RTPI, RICS, CIH or evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).Proven experience collaborating successfully with colleagues, Senior Leadership Teams, Executive Board, including presentations to appropriate Boards and Committees.What youll receive from usWe have some fantastic benefits on offer at Sovereign, including:
