Job Description

Were looking for an experienced ProcurementTransformationLead to join us on a 9 month fixed term basis, with the possibility of further extension. Youll be based fromour head office in Basingstoke withflexibility for remote working.Were embarking on an exciting period of transformation across ourProcurement function at Sovereign in order to supportourambitious corporate goals. The procurementteam will need to take a more commercial view to sourcingactivities and managing our supply chain as we drive up value for money and increase the number of new homes we are building to 2000 a year, changing our maintenance practices to meet our vision for homes and places.As a leading Housing Association, we are committed to providing quality, affordable homes and services within sustainable, successful communities. Were led by our values and driven by a strong social purpose, placing our residents at the heart of everything we do.What youll be doingThe procurementteam has set out its new vision and strategy aimed atsupporting Sovereigns corporate plans. This identifies the need to drive a step change in the focus and performance of the procurementteam through life cycle sourcing including suppliermanagement, increasing the teams sphere of influence, driving c5% savings fromtendering and embedding a commercial, customer centric and suppliermanagement approach.Working closely withour Head of Procurement, youll lead a number of strategic work streams within ourtransformation programme. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Senior Procurementteam in creating and promoting a business partnering approach allowing the team to transition from a project focus to value added business advisors.
  • Leading strategic transformational workstreams for data integrity & data reporting to maximise the use of data to impact decision making.
  • Leading the strategic workstream for creating and embedding a devolved self-service sourcing model for low risk business led sourcingrequirements.
  • Supporting the creation of strategic categorymanagement plans by category managers that allows the proactive management of our supply chain ensuring contracts are both compliant and deliver value
  • Working collaborativelywith the SupplierRelationshipManagement workstream lead to create and embed a contract management approach that enables operational colleagues to ensure full contract value is delivered for the benefit of our customers and minimises contract value leakage.
  • Inputting at a senior level to procurement process reviews in line with embedding the strategy to eliminate waste, and empower operational colleagues and the procurementteam to move swiftly and robustly fromidentifying need to sourcing a supplier.
    • What we need from youYoull have proven knowledge and experience at senior level across a range of areas within procurement. Were looking for someone who has:
  • Experience in creating / running high performing procurement teams
  • Expert knowledge across a range of areas and sectors in procurement including supplierrelationshipmanagement and data integrity
  • A track record of delivering change / transformation projects, driving momentum and enablingopportunities for internal colleagues to get involved
  • Strong thought leadership and partnering experience to enable us to reach for aspirational/transformational outcomes
  • Strong influencing skills, whilst using initiative and intellectualcuriosity to work proactively and collaboratively across teams
