Job Description

Are you experienced in Internal Communications and project managing eventsOur Internal Communications team is central in helping Sovereign fulfil its ambitions. We develop and deliver communications that help our colleagues feel connected to the organisation, positively influencing behaviours and engagement, and resulting in improvedorganisational performance and customer satisfaction.Were looking for an Internal Communications and Events Specialist to join our team based at our head office in Basingstoke with flexibility to combine some remote working. Were open to considering part time options for this role, working 34 hours or more per week.What youll be doingYoull work closely with our Internal Communications Specialist in the delivery of Sovereigns internal communications and to project manage employee events. This role supports the development and delivery of Sovereigns transformation programme and widerinternal comms through identified communication activity and targeted comms for employees that informs, engages and builds trust.This is a varied role and main responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Head of Communications and the Internal Communications Specialist to implement and develop internal communications campaigns and activity
  • Developing and project managing employee events including EB Live!, directorate teams meetings, staff conferences, open house events and Executive Board Roadshows, both digital and in-person
  • Creating engaging and relevant content for different audiences, working with colleagues around the business to support and advise them on the best ways to get their messages across
  • Providing advice and support to business leaders on the effective use of communications, incorporating external benchmarking and best practice, helping them to self-serve where appropriate
  • Using data insight, explore and apply innovative ways to manage and tailor communication activity, alongside measuring the effectiveness of internal communications to determine the impact of different channels and messages
  • Leading internal communication projects, liaising with and managing internal customers, ensuring that they are kept informed of progress and outcomes
What we need from youYou should have demonstrable experience in internal communications and project managing events both online and in-person. Ideally, youll also have familiarity with hosting events via MS Teams (Teams Live Events and Webinar) as well as intranet content managementsystems and newsletter tools, ideally SharePoint and Poppulo.
  • Youll be familiar with all aspects of event planning and working closely with project teams to organise venues, content, AV and tech
  • Were looking for an excellent writer to produce engaging content and identify opportunities to maximise reach across target audiences
  • Youll need confidence in building relationships with a variety of stakeholders and the ability to effectively prioritise workloads to deadlines
  • This role also co-ordinates communications content so youll need to be highly organised and a good planner
  • Experience in video production and editing would be preferable, although not essential
