Youll be based from our office in Basingstoke, with the flexibility for a blend of remote working.The RoleAs GIS Systems Manager youll take ownership for managing and developing an efficient and flexible GIS platform, championing the use of GIS throughout the business. You will be responsible for the resourcing and cost management of all GIS platform development,leading the future strategic vision for GIS at Sovereign and advocating the use of our federated ArcGIS Enterprise throughout the organisation.Working collaboratively with the wider Data and Analytics team, youll project manage and create technical solutions to deliver new insights to the business using map visuals, geoprocessing analysis and web-map applications. Managing a GIS analyst, you willensure that all spatially enabled data is accurately maintained and stored and used appropriately by a user-base of over 1,000 people.Key Responsibilities include:

• Providing strategic direction and leadership to deliver on the GIS strategy, presenting to senior management on the future application and use of GIS within Sovereign
• Working closely with IT, managing the ArcGIS Enterprise environment to deliver maximum benefit to the business, ensuring the system is maintained and developed in line with best GIS and Data Management practices and standards
• Working with our software partner ESRI, design and lead on maintaining the GIS platform, ensuring regular software updates and benefitting from the latest technology advancements in GIS
• Developing and deploying GIS applications and systems within the business, leading on the training and support of all GIS users
• Ensuring all maps are produced to the highest standard, incorporating good cartographic design principles and relevant data licensing

What were looking forYou should have demonstrable experience in a similar GIS role, with expertise in ESRIs ArcGIS product family. Youll bring strategic thinking and a proactive style to your leadership, spotting opportunities to utilise GIS across the business. Youll alsohave:

• Demonstrable experience of ESRI ArcGIS Pro / ArcGIS Map / ArcGIS Server (including SDE) / ArcGIS Portal / ArcGIS Online / ArcGIS Collector App
• Experience in building, managing, and deploying successful GIS solutions and projects
• An understanding of database design, table joins, views and functions, ideally SQL Server
• Proven analytical skills
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
• Knowledge and experience with Python, MS Project and MS PowerBI would be advantageous

There may be a requirement to travel between offices so you should be happy to travel and have access to your own transport.What you can expect from us:
