Job Description

Youll be based in our head office in Basingstoke with the flexibility to combine home and office working.About the roleReporting to the Head of Governance, your role will be the provision of corporate governance support and advice to all legal entities, and to business partner and offer meeting support for Board, Committee and General meetings.Other responsibilities include:

  • Organising board, committee and shareholder meetings
  • Full governance and administration support of these meetings, including using our board portal to issue papers, arranging facilities, agenda preparation and taking and circulating minutes along with action points
  • Arranging the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and ensuring that Sovereigns shareholder register is accurate and maintained
  • Supporting and advising our board members outside meetings, including making arrangements for attendance at training sessions and external conferences
  • Supporting the recruitment and appraisals at Board level
  • Checking the accuracy of and sealing official and legal documents, maintaining Sovereign and its subsidiaries seal registers in compliance with the signing and sealing policy
About youYou should have previous experience working in a similar role with similar responsibilities, and will have strong understanding of finance regulations and working in a regulated environment. Youll also:
  • Be confident in communicating with senior stakeholders at executive and board level, and able to support good decision making
  • Have a high attention to detail and be able to work with discretion as youll be handling information which may be sensitive or confidential in nature
  • Take a logical and organised approach to your workload, effectively prioritising tasks and managing these to deadlines
  • Show experience in producing minutes for corporate meetings at a high standard
  • Show strong initiative, curiosity, and drive through your work
  • Be resilient, intuitive and possess strong relationship building and influential skills
  • Ideally, youll be ICSA or CGI Qualified or part qualifiedwere open to different levels of qualification
