Residential Support Worker - Basildon, EssexDo you have experience in childrens residential care Or experience caring for vulnerable childrenAre you a positive person who is able to bring stability and consistency to vulnerable childrens livesAre you wanting to make a real difference and nurture children who have social, emotional and mental health needsIf you thought yes to any of these questions then keep reading.Academics are very happy to be working with an "outstanding" residential childrens home who are looking for support workers to join their passionate and dedicated team on a permanent basis.This will be a fast paced but fun environment where you will be tasked with developing positive and trusting relationships with the children under your care. You will be involved in planning activities that peak their interest helping them learnnew skills while also helping them to develop confidence and self-regulation. Your role will be to really encourage these children to enjoy these activities and help identify those that may be struggling, a bubbly and outgoing personality with a great senseof humour would be great for this role. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who really wants to make a difference and help some of the most vulnerable children in the county. The ideal candidates will:- Have a Level 3 Qualification in Child or Adult care - Experience working within a care setting, Fostering, Residential, Live in Care work etc. - Be flexible and dedicated - Have strong behavioural management skills- Be eligible to work in the UKWorking week will involve working - 40.75hours per week based on a shift rota, involving day and evening shifts. Evening shifts include: Monday to Thursday 2.30pm to 10.45pm. Day shifts are: Monday to Friday 7.30am to 3.30pm. Sleeping in duties also applyto this post of which the NJC Sleeping-in Duty payment is payable.
