The role: Bodyshop Painter/PrepperMotorAid Ltd is a Premier independent German car specialist since 1996, servicing and maintaining our customers German cars at two locations in Essex; Basildon and Hainault. Located at Basildon is also our Commercial vehicle garage that takes care of allmakes of vans, trucks and trailers. In January 2015 we have started up our in house Body Repair Centre, with full repair capabilities to deal with minor scratches to major accident repairs, most recently we have expanded into Vehicle Leasing and Prestige UsedCar Sales.Were looking for an exceptional Bodyshop Prepper to join our fast-growing team.The Bodyshop Prepper will be responsible for preparing vehicles for paint. You will be someone that enjoys working in a fast paced environment with a hands on attitude and at heart with a data-driven mindset, sharing fresh ideas for how to apply best practiceto improve efficiency by reducing operating costs while increasing productivity.What youll be doing:Preparing vehicles for painting, as per the detailed instruction and Audatex estimate, you will be using appropriate provided equipment to prepare the vehicle for paint to the highest possible standard.Rubbing down primer to a smooth finish.Rubbing down filler to a smooth finish.Using primer to cover chips or filled dents.De-masking any masking paper.Preparing vehicles with masking paper to protect areas not required for painting.Using the appropriate filling material, where small chips or dents need filling.After painting, using fine paper to remove blemishes and dirt in the paint.Attending all training programmes as necessary and when instructed.Using orbital sanders to remove small chips in the paint.Maintaining a clean and tidy working area at all times.RequirementsWe are looking for fully skilled and experienced with industry recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ) who has the:
