Job Description

This well-established Kettering-based school is now looking for an IT Apprentice to provide an excellent service and IT support to the students and teaching staff. You will be required to assist in any IT function to support the needs of the school.Key responsibilities:Carry out day to day support of ICT users as required by assigned helpdesk tickets, including:- Day to day maintenance and administration of the ICT systems and network including access and password rights- Identifying the cause of faults and undertaking basic repairs and maintenance of hardware- Preparing computers with appropriate software ready to use, as required, by staff and students- Supporting teachers and students when they are using ICT and/or AV equipment and helping them resolve difficulties- Install and remove both hardware and software on workstations- Maintain printers by refilling toner and ink cartridges, head cleaning and alignment- Supporting the use of AV and theatre equipment within the school

  • Ensure helpdesk tickets are kept accurate and up to date with current status
  • Update the information screens, websites and Virtual Learning Environments
  • Assist in the maintenance of procedure documentation, ensuring it is accurate, up to date, and best practice is maintained
  • Support the IT Services department in ensuring updates and maintenance are carried out
  • Continuously develop knowledge and skills and make recommendations for the school as appropriate
