I am representing a School which is a family owned, friendly, independent SEN school and they are looking for a positive and flexible Maths teacher or instructor to join the team, starting as soon as possible, working at the Upper School site.Salary will be negotiable, but for a qualified teacher will be between £130 - £150 per day.They school offers a great work/life balance and there are a number of benefits to joining the team:: Your working hours are 8.45 - 4.30, Monday-Thursday with a 3.30pm finish on a Friday (35.25 hours per week). The school operates a current working year of no more than 36 weeks, which includes our training days. Protected PPA from 3.30pm-4.30pm at least three times a week in addition to other occasions. Very limited marking of books or work in the evening due to small class sizes. Staff events throughout the year. Supportive leadership team and friendly staff body. Funded training opportunities. Opportunities to make a real difference to the students and families we serve.Our class sizes are small with no more than 6 students at any one time. Learning is personalised and our maximum ratio is 1:3. You will be responsible for planning, delivering and assessing the Mathematics curriculum for KS3-KS5 students. You must be ableto work on your own initiative, have a good subject knowledge up to A Level and have good classroom and behaviour management skills. You will also benefit from a good level of resilience, team working skills and the ability to adapt quickly.We expect all staff to develop a good understanding of the students needs in order to meet them at their point of understanding and enable them to make consistent progress towards their outcomes. We currently have 78 students on roll aged 5-19 based acrossour two sites, Lower school in Appleby and Upper School in Brigg. All students must have an EHCP to attend and all students exhibit some social, emotional or mental health difficulties. We currently work with over 6 local authorities and we offer a wide rangeof curriculum subjects along with life skills and independent living courses and a variety of other opportunities for our students. Qualifications offered include ASDAN, BTec, GCSE, Functional Skills and A Levels.Candidates must hold a minimum of GCSE English and Maths at C or above (or equivalent) and an additional qualification in Mathematics as minimum qualifications, along with some experience of working with young people with SEN would be advantageous. You mustbe competent to teach Mathematics up to A Level standard. You do not have to hold QTS, although it would be preferred, and NQTs are welcome to apply.
