Job Description

Grafton Recruitment are recruiting a NPD Technologist for a market leading FMCG manufacturer based in North Lincolnshire. Answering to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will join a small technical team ensuring all information required for new product launches is available and on time as and when required. Previous exposure in a similar role within the food/fmcg industry is required.NPD Technologist Job Details:Shift: Days onlyHours: Days = 7am-4.30pm Mon to Thur, 7am to 11am FriSalary: £23,000 to £28,000 per annum DOELocation: North Lincolnshire, commutable from Immingham, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Brigg, Barton, Brough, Hessle, HullNPD Technologist Key Responsibilities:

  • Check and approve internal product specifications
  • Working closely with the planning team to ensure the internal specifications are correctly transferred onto a VISMA system
  • To summarize product development status on the development spreadsheet
  • Working closely with the commercial team to ensure the information required for product launch is available and on time as and when required
  • Completion of customer documentation (specifications, questionnaires, packaging information) as required
  • Provide relevant info regarding various standards and accreditations e.g. Fairtrade etc
  • Identify and report any issues relating to existing or new products
  • Ensure finished production specifications are available to relevant stakeholders
  • Support QC as and when required; Inspection of products to ensure conformity to specification, Assisting in the recording, investigating and responses to customer complaints and take appropriate actions, Upkeep of the Customer complaints database, Send out microbiological & nutritional samples, Reporting of non-conformances to suppliers, Assist in carrying out traceability exercises etc
  • NPD Technologist Candidate Requirements:
  • Previous exposure and proven background within FMCG/Food environment
  • Knowledge of current Food Safety, Food Labelling and other relevant legislation
  • IT Skills -excel, word and sharepoint
  • Ability to meet deadlines, with a high level of problem solving skills
  • Customer service
  • Flexible and adaptable, willing to cover QC duties as detailed above (hours of 0600-1430)
