Job Description

DBA (MySQL Specialist) - Barton Upon Humber - £40K DOERole: DBA (MySQL Specialist)Location: Barton Upon HumberSalary: £40,000 DOESponsorship: Not provided INTERVIWING IMMDIATLEY - APPLY TODAY!!My client is in the retail sector and are looking for a DBA to join their growing team on a permanent basis. They are one of the largest retail companies in the country and are widely considered a market leader in their field. A successful Database Administrator will have varied duties, from working on day-to-day tickets with varying levels of complexity, to assisting in the deployment of new projects and services. Managing and improving monitoring systems. Working with a large arrayof data and database technologies.Experience needed:

  • Reviewing and suggesting DDL for new features in line with SQL coding standards and best database performance for the development team
  • Monitoring slow and inefficient queries through DPA and suggesting improvements to the development team
  • Ensuring service availability of all database platforms
  • Managing permission sets, credentials, obfuscation of data
  • Collaborating with development and DevOps teams
  • Optimise and improve database queries
  • Opportunity to work on Data engineering tasks
Desirable Skills
  • Excellent communication and customer skills
  • Oracle Certified Professional MySQL Database Administrator (5.7+)
  • Python knowledge and experience is beneficial
  • Knowledge of AWS RDS
