Job Description

We are looking for two enthusiastic people to join the Computed Tomography (CT) team in Radiology on a fixed term basis of two years working 37.5 hours per week.The post holder will need to have knowledge of working within the healthcare environment, they will demonstrate organisation, initiative and flexible-thinking, an ability to learn and work in a team, and enjoy a challenge.As part of the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will provide a key role in providing imaging, care and support to individuals as specified in standard radiographic protocols. Following training they will perform a range of radiographic imaging procedures as detailed within the scheme of work within the CT department under the supervision of a qualified radiographer.The post holder must be willing and able to undertake the necessary training required to become competent in a limited area of radiography under the direction and supervision of a qualified radiographer. This will involve completion of the FdSc Healthcare Practice-Assistant Practitioner qualification, which will be provided by Petroc College in Barnstaple and supported by Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust (starting in September 2021), followed by CT specific training.You will be required to have:

  • GCSE English and Maths grade C or above or Functional skills Level 2 literacy and numeracy to ensure you meet the appropriate academic criteria required to undertake and complete the course.
  • IT skills
  • NVQ/QCF 2/3 or equivalent in relevant area of practice
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Be compliant with all mandatory training requirements
  • Be able to commit to fully attending the study days and completing the academic modules required
