Job Description

Senior Materials Technician, SOCOTEC, Competitive Salary, Barnstaple, North Devon. To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Infrastructure division. SOCOTEC is the UKs largest independent construction materials testing division, delivering seven million tests a year to more than 5,000 clients eitherin our laboratories or on-site. SOCOTEC offers the widest range of testing, inspection and certification services in the UK. Our sampling and testing methods are based upon current British and European standards and are accredited by UKAS.Following a new contract award near Barnstaple - North Devon we are now looking for a Senior Materials Technician who will be responsible for managing a site laboratory by undertaking testing on concrete, earthworks and asphalt.You will be provided with accommodation, subsistence, vehicle and all the necessary support to deliver a first class testing service to our client.Responsibilities;

  • Undertake laboratory and field based testing to concrete, soils, bituminous materials and aggregates
  • Complete tasks and take a lead in ensuring full compliance with our SHEQ documents.
  • Calculate test results
  • Represent SOCOTEC as key point of contact with the client.

  • Experience within a construction site environment / CSCS Card
  • Knowledge of materials testing disciplines i.e. soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt.
