Job Description

Our client is a highly successful and reputable independent veterinary practice based in North Devon who pride themselves in providing excellent customer service. They have a wealth of experience in their industry and promote a friendly and supportive culture.They now have an exciting new opportunity for an HR Co-ordinator to join the team. The purpose of this role will be to organise and manage the HR functions for the company, developing strong relationships with all departments and ensuring effective communicationto promote continual improvements within the business.The person will support the Directors and Management with recruitment, colleague engagement, welfare support and performance management while helping to influence the culture of the business in order to deliver people related processes that compliment thecompanys vision and are aligned with employment law.Typical duties include but are not limited to:-

  • Recruitment and selection administration
  • Gathering monthly information for accurate payment of salaries
  • Administration of childcare vouchers and pension contributions
  • Developing induction programmes, delivering to new colleagues and visiting students
  • Conducting and recording probationary reviews with management
  • Uniform and protective clothing management
  • Monitoring attendance and recording absence, as well as providing reports for management meetings as required
  • The planning and recording of training sessions
  • Health & Safety administration and assisting with assessments to meet legal obligations
  • Reviewing and updating HR policies as required
  • Projects and ad hoc duties as required
The ideal candidate will be someone who is friendly, outgoing, confident and an excellent communicator, with both written and verbal communication skills. They will be a people person and a team player, and someone who is organised, able to prioritise theirown workload and has an eye for detail. They must be self-motivated, proactive, able to multi-task and used to working in a pressurised environment.The successful candidate will be someone who has a minimum of 2 years practical HR experience. They will ideally have a Business Management/HR Management degree or similar and CIPD qualification (minimum level 3).
