We have more than 4,000 dedicated colleagues, at 14 locations across the country, all sharing the same obsession for our great food.Job description:Internal Communications AdvisorBased in Carlton, BarnsleyAn opportunity has arisen for an experienced Internal Communications Advisorto develop and maintain an internal communications strategy that ensures colleagues receive timely, relevantand accurate information that is necessary to support the business, and which leads to high levels of staff motivation and engagement with the Premier Foods brand. Joining our Carlton site the Home of Mr Kipling you will work closely with the Factory General Manager (FGM) and HR Manager to provide a confidential and efficient administrative support necessary to run the organisation effectively. It is an exciting opportunity to work with autonomy on the internal comms strategy and all elements of the internal communications plan.What you will be doing:

  • Prepare and manage an internal communications strategy and plan that enables colleagues to receive, and provide feedback on timely, relevant and accurate information that enables them to understand and deliver objectives and carry out their tasks most effectively.
  • Develop, edit, publish and distribute a colleague briefing that provides interesting and motivational material enabling colleagues to keep abreast of business developments, and news about our people.
  • Promote and embed employee recognition schemes and awards and liaise with the business and Carlton teams to ensure that success of colleagues is effectively celebrated and communicated.
  • Provide input to Premier Foods internal communications processes and publications utilising all communication channels as appropriate.
  • Site lead for engagement initiatives to include surveys; Premier Voice; community involvement (e.g. school partnerships); charities; etc.
  • Attend management meetings as required to develop and prepare a communication plan and key messages to ensure effective information sharing to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage VIP visits and external visitors – help manage visit and ensure they have a great experience leaving with a good impression of the business.
  • Maintain and organise diaries, plan and schedule appointments/meetings, arrange appropriate accommodation and/or meeting facilities along with travel schedules, appropriate travel permits and reservations where required for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Organise meetings, attending them and ensuring the SLT are prepared for them.
  • Create presentations, documents, reports and notices using digital graphics and desktop publishing software.
  • Liaise with suppliers, clients and other colleagues.
  • Undertake and assist in specific projects and developments as required by the FGM or HR Manager.
  • What we need from you:
  • A proven track record of working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of leading communications to support customer engagement and consultation activity.
  • Experience writing clear copy and the ability to proof-read.
  • Experience with social media
  • Ability to work pro-actively, under-pressure.
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Microsoft Office (Intermediate Excel, Powerpoint, etc)
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise.
