Job Description

THE COMPANY:Brewster Partners are looking for an experienced Buyer to join a leading FMCG client in Barnsley, close to M1 links. The Buyer will be a welcome addition to a very busy team within an exceptional company - if you want to join a company which values their employees, offers progression, development and success then this is your opportunity! THE JOB:Working within the FMCG industry, you will be responsible for purchasing stock from external companies within your category specific areas - this could be from multiple areas such as frozen food, poultry, pet food, ambient, personal care or household to name a few... Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maximise the potential of existing client relationships
  • Drive growth within your category specific areas
  • Understanding of purchase trends at category and client level - identifying risks and opportunities
  • Undertake regular review meetings, ensuring business objectives are met with the purchasing of all stock
  • Communication is key with all clients - calls, emails and visits to build relationships and engagement
  • Grow existing relationships, meet new contacts to ensure business as usual is maintained
  • Engaging with suppliers, supporting the wider business needs in line with what they want to offer
    • THE PERSON:As the successful Buyer, you will build rapport easily with your clients, maintaining relationships and building connections.
  • Strong buying background with valuable expertise within your category
  • Good communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Driven to succeed and deliver excellent results
  • Proven, successful negotiation skills
  • Organised and methodical, effectively planning to ensure each product range is marketed on time and successfully - liaising with internal teams such as marketing to produce the relevant merchandise
  • Microsoft Office including Excel is essential
    • You will join a really great team of 6 experienced Buyers, each one specialising in specific product ranges. Due to the current climate the role will be home based.
