Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting for a highly skilled Accounts Assistant to join the Finance department of a successful nationwide distribution business based in Barnsley! This is a really varied and autonomous role where you will gain exposure across a range of areas within accounts such as the Purchase Ledger, Credit Control and Sales Ledger. You will join a friendly, close-knit finance department and become an integral partof their team.Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant will include: * Daily Posting of Sales Ledger Cash* Daily posting of Sales Invoices and Credit Notes* Daily processing of EDI Invoices and correcting any errors* Submission of daily figures to Receivables Finance* Weekly reconciliation of daily figures to Receivables Finance* Scanning of credit applications using the document management system* Assisting with annual Credit Limit review in line with Credit Insurance policy* Holiday Cover for Credit Controllers* Organise incoming invoices * Answering telephone calls from suppliers* Respond to emails from suppliers* Process invoices using a purchase order processing 3-way matching system* Maintain the accounts payable ledger including applying cash and clearing debit balances* Distribute invoices electronically for authorisation checking nominal coding * File / archive invoices using the Document Management System* Regular liaison with purchasing/ goods inwards teams* Reconcile supplier statements* Post faster payments into ERP on daily basis* Holiday cover for Purchase Ledger Clerk* Sole responsibility for Daily Sales Report* Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports as required* Ensure reports are accurate and meet deadlines at all times* Ensure data is presented in a professional reporting manner* Any other duties, as demanded by the job role and as requested by your line manager as and when requiredSkills and attributes required:* Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger experience * Strong Excel skills * Will have a high level of communication skills* Able to work confidentlyIf you are interested in this position and feel that you meet the criteria for this role, please do not hesitate to apply directly or contact Sarah-Jane Skott at Elevation Recruitment Group to discuss.
