Job Description

Psychology Graduate Teaching AssistantLocation: Barnet, LondonRate: £90 to £100 per hour (depending on experience)Contract Type: Full-time, Long-termIntroduction: We are a reputable education agency representing a well-established Secondary School in Barnet, London. We are currently seeking a dedicated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join the schools team. This role presentsan exciting opportunity to contribute to the academic and personal development of students, with a competitive hourly rate ranging from £90 to £100, based on the candidates experience.Responsibilities: As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, your role will be instrumental in providing support to students both inside and outside the classroom. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with teachers to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  2. Individual Support: Work one-on-one with students, applying psychological principles to address academic challenges and promote personal development.
  3. Behavioral Assistance: Assist in managing and implementing behavioral support strategies to create a positive and respectful atmosphere.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with the schools SENCO, teachers, and parents to support the unique needs of students.
  5. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Psychology or a related field is required.
  • Previous experience in a teaching assistant role, especially within a secondary school, is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy and understanding towards the diverse needs of students.
