Job Description

A modern, forward thinking and flexible accountancy firm are hiring a key job role, commutable from Oakham, Stamford, Leicester, Corby and Melton Mowbray for a Senior Accountant or Client Manager with an employer offering hybrid working, parking,strong holidays and perks, plus a friendly and supportive team.Salary will depend on experience, the team is well-balanced between experience and those training, with great offices, parking on-site and they are flexible on hybrid working, with them typically wanting 50% office based or more. Working hours can also beflexible within reason.You will ideally hold a chartered qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), although those qualified by experience may be considered. The role involves the compliance areas ofbookkeeping and financial management and reporting, but also provides a number of otheradvisory services, including monthly management accounts, cash-flow forecasts, support for funding rounds and assistance withsupport on R&D claims.This is mainly a compliance & tax role, working on tax relief claims, as well as overseeing the production of year-end statutory accounts and company tax returns. The role will also include assistance with on-boarding new clients and building a portfolioof clients to manage independently.It is an ideal opportunity for someone with proven experience gained from working in an accountancy practice, to pursue a career in financial reporting and taxation in a supportive office environment with dynamic and interesting clients.Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a key point of contactfor clients, building a portfolio over time
  • Year-end statutory accounts & CT returns
  • Liaising with the bookkeeping / VAT team and some review of VAT returns
  • Review of year-end balance sheet working papers and preparation of annual accounts and company tax returns
  • Managing other tax compliance issues
  • Assist with preparation of R&D tax credit claims
  • Assist with preparation of EIS / SEIS advanced assurance and compliance statements
