Water is essential to life, so our business is always open.What youll be doingThis a challenging and exciting opportunity to join our Capital Delivery Major Projects team and be involved in the delivery of some of the most technically complex, high-profile projects in the UKs biggest potable water and wastewater treatment investmentprogrammes. With project values ranging from £30m to over £120m and covering the full life cycle from feasibility to handover, youll have an opportunity to make a real difference both to our customers and the environment.As a Technical Assurance Civil Engineer, youll contribute your skills and experience to positively shaping solutions that holistically balance innovation, value for money and resilience. Solutions that range across some of the UKs largestwater retaining structures include challenges such as constructing new sewage treatment works on an old landfill site, tunnelling, re-purposing and expanding existing assets, demolition and material reuse, and promoting precast and DfMA solutions. Youll alsowant to drive down our embedded and operational carbon footprint by maximising energy-efficient solutions and delivery such as the use of low-carbon concrete, all developed within an environment that encourages collaboration across a range of technical andcommercial disciplines, internal business functions and with the supply community amongst a diverse range of external stakeholders.Working closely with contractors and consultants supporting the delivery of capital projects, youll ensure compliance with our requirements, standards, and expectations so that solutions are delivered safely, meet the technical and environmental requirementsof the Project Brief, and end users expectations. Youll support Thames Waters triple zero Health, Safety and Well-being vision (zero incidents, zero harm, zero compromises) by carrying out audits and reviewing Risk Assessments, Method Statements and SafeSystems of Work.What you should bring to the role
