Job Description

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Engineer, multi-skilled or electrical bias to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, hours will be 5AM - 5PM and 5PM - 5AM, alternating every week. The yearly salary is £44,283.Purpose of the RoleResponsible for internal & external preventative, reactive and corrective maintenance work on plant equipment to continuously improve machine reliability, availability & capacity, to manufacturing standards.Working with third party equipment suppliers to ensure all maintenance activities are in line with agreed SLAs and there is a clear understanding of supplier maintenance activities vs. in house maintenance.Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:* Providing both a reactive and pro-active, highly skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure* Following and completing (signing off) planned maintenance (PMs, RMs & CMs) via a Computer Maintenance Management System and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out * Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmentalrequirements are adhered to * Actively participate in Projects, continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes * Assist in the administration of the CMMS (Frontline) to ensure its accuracy at all times* Frontline to be used for all maintenance and stock activities* Liaise with external contractors for reactive maintenance and to Schedule planned service maintenance. * Request & check RAMS, Induct personnel, Provide permits to work and oversee contractor works onsite to ensure work is carried out safely* Liaise with the SHEQ team to resolve H&S, environmental, internal audits, GMP, COSHH and ISO quality issues. Ensure all compliance checks are complete and correctly filed with the site operating in full compliance with UK regulations and Global manufacturingstandards* Attend all nominated training modules as necessary* Travelling and working between sites as and when requiredRequired knowledge, skills and experience* Single skilled maintenance engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) qualifications* Previous maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or waste environment - 5 years* IOSH - Working Safely* Permit to work, LOTO* Problem solving and fault diagnosis techniques* Effective communication, planning & organisation* Analysis & problem solving* Knowledge if various mechanical drive arrangements, including simplex, duplex, chain, belt, gearboxes and transmission equipment is required* Hold a valid driving licence* Experience of driving forklift trucks, MEWP, confined space and working at height* Previous mechanical and electronic maintenance experience - 5 years* Familiar and worked with continuous improvement (CI) - Lean, Kan Ban, OEE, TOC and other activities * Third party on site management* Engineering best practiceDesirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience* Multi-skilled maintenance engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) qualifications* IOSH - Managing Safely* Software engineering - experienced in new technology/software* Experience of driving forklift trucks, MEWP, confined space and working at heightPlease bear in mind that you may not hear from us straight away.
