Job Description

Maintenance Engineer (Barking)Join a leading UK heavy engineering specialist firm as a Maintenance Engineer!Our client is a top player in the industry, providing sustainable and innovative solutions to their customers. With a diverse range of services and state-of-the-art facilities, they cater to various industries and clients, effectively managing and processingrecyclable materials.Working hours: 7:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday + one in two Saturdays (7:00 -12:00)What’s in it for you

  • Base salary between £40,000 and £46,000 (£50,000-£60,000 OTE).

Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance on plant and machinery.
  • Conduct regular inspections of heavy machinery to identify signs of wear, damage, or malfunction.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in heavy machinery.
  • Perform repairs on faulty equipment
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacements.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and order new parts as needed.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Work closely with other team members, including operators and production staff, to understand the equipments performance issues.
  • Be available for emergency repairs.
Requirements
  • A background in mechanical/electrical engineering.
  • Experience in the heavy engineering industry.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • Attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
