Nightshift on a 4 on 4 off pattern, 6pm to 6amWe are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Desford team in the position of Brick Operative on a Fixed Term Contract.The role holder will play a safe and active part in the Manufacturing process, being responsible to ensure all products presented are of best quality, rejecting unsuitable products, whilst safely maintaining minimum down time in order to ensure all productsare made to their designated specifications, to achieve both the kiln requirements and current safety, output and quality targets.Your duties would include but not limited to the following;

• Working within a brick manufacturing plant, the job function of "Operative" involves operating a variety of machinery in addition to some manual work.
• To work closely with the shift colleagues, Foreman, Shift Manager, Safety Coordinator and Production Manager to ensure the sites targets and objectives are achieved.
• You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all plant and equipment that you will be trained to use whilst being focused and committed to achieve our aims in delivering excellent quality and customer service.
• The job role will involve being trained in various production processes contained within the manufacturing system. These will include, Manufacturing, sorting & packaging plant associated with brick production & operating a range of mobile plant
• Complete and sign all process control sheets relative to the processes you are engaged in prior to the end of the shift. Report all quality concerns immediately to your line manager.
• Ensure that you adhere to the quality requirements as specified in the sites quality system for all production processes you are trained in.
• Work with management to develop a good sustainability culture at the works.

• Good communication skills.
• Maintain factory 5s standards.
• Train on all stages within process including all manufacturing machinery & plant on site.
• Adhere to Company Health & Safety standards.
• Participate in Continuous improvement activities.
• Manage a varied workload within production deadlines.
• Available to work additional shifts as when necessary to achieve production targets.

Required Training / Qualifications;

• Literacy and Numeracy to GCSE level.
• Previous experience of working as part of a team.
• Experience of working in a factory environment would be advantageous.
• FLT Licence would be advantageous.
