NHS Wales - Trainee Clinical Scientists – Reproductive ScienceExciting opportunities to use your science degree for patient and public benefitEarn a competitive salary and gain a masters degree through a 3 year, full-time, nationally recognised training programmeStarting salary will be on the first point of Band 6 on a 3 year fixed term contract.The NHS in Wales is offering a salaried post-graduate training post in Reproductive Science (Andrology) for high calibre science graduates who are passionate about science and its role in patient care.The post is based within the Wales Fertility Institute which operates laboratories in Cardiff, Neath Port Talbot and Swansea. WFI’s staff comprises highly experienced scientists, clinicians, nurses and support staff who offer safe, effective treatment in an NHS setting. The service offers both NHS and patient funded treatment and enjoys close links with both Cardiff and Swansea Universities.This HEIW fully funded programme is equivalent to that of the STP programme in England.Further information about the Reproductive Sciences and STP can be found at:The National School of Healthcare Sciences.Successful candidates will be employed by Swansea Bay University Health Board for the duration of their three year post-graduate training programme. Trainees are also enrolled for a fully funded part time vocational master’s degree in Reproductive Science.Trainees will be required to rotate through other (Cytology, Histopathology and Genetics) which may be at locations other than the main base of work. On completion of training, prospects for permanent employment both nationally and internationally are excellent.
