Job Description

Transport Planner Location: AvonmouthSalary: Up to £30,000Various Shift’s Available Autograph Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leader in efficient shipping and freight forwarding client. We are looking for a strategic, enthusiastic Transport Planner to join their team in Avonmouth. The successful candidate will play a pivotalrole in designing and implementing transportation plans that ensure the seamless movement of goods, meeting customer demands while maximising efficiency and customer satisfaction.Our client is committed to providing appropriate training to the successful candidate.Responsibilities:

Analyse customer orders and shipment details to develop optimal transportation plans
Assist Transport Manager with daily planning to ensure best transportation and driver
Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers to secure the best possible deals.
Design efficient routes, considering factors like distance, traffic patterns, regulations, and delivery windows.
Schedule pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring timely execution and clear communication with all parties involved
Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any potential delays or disruptions
Track and analyse transportation data with the Transport Manager to identify areas for improvement and cost savings
Maintain strong relationships with customers and drivers

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience within a planning or logistics role would be an advantage but not essential
Enthusiastic, and willing to learn
Dependable, promoting a “can do” attitude
Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
