We offer a 6 month preceptorship scheme for newly qualified radiographers and encourage you to commence in post as an assistant practitioner until HCPC registration is demonstrated. Our Radiology department at Tameside Hospital has a wide range of opportunities for career progression and has a true 4 tier structure.We have a Consultant SonographerWe have Advanced/Specialist Practice in all modalities -Plain Film, CT and MR reportingUltrasound, including interventional proceduresRadiographer led Fluoroscopy service including HSGs, Video/Barium studies and proctography. Mammography reporting including Radiographer led ultrasound and biopsiesRadiographer led Nuclear Medicine myocardial perfusion scanningNuclear Medicine reportingWe have a robust CPD schedule including special interest groups, modality specific meetings and a quarterly directorate audit meeting.We work an extended day, 7am-9pm Monday to Friday with on-call at the weekends, but plan to implement a shift system via a phased approach over the coming 12-18 months.Tameside Hospital is in Ashton-u-Lyne which has great motorway and train links, to Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool with fantastic retail and social activities.There is also beautiful countryside on the doorstep.
