Maintenance Team LeaderLocation: ThamesideSalary: Upto £44500We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Team Leader for a Thameside based Food company.The role is offered on a permanent basis with an excellent package and career opportunities on offer.THE ROLEThe position of Maintenance Team Leader will consist of the following tasks and duties:As a key member of the Engineering Team, you will play a critical role in coordinating and prioritising the daily/shift work activities for both internal and external engineering resources, resulting in safe execution of the overall engineering work plan. Specifically, you will:- Ensure assets are ready to produce products that are of an excellent quality, despatched on time in full to the satisfaction of our customers.- Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work is applied for all activities taking place within that day/shift across site.- Ensure value for money from the way in which engineering budget is spent - Take ownership for efficiency savings and improvements.- Ensure that any events resulting in downtime of over 15 minutes are investigated ensuring that root cause investigations are followed through and documented.- Ensure that the internal engineering team have a clear focus on skills development relevant to the needs of the factory.- Ensuring that the daily engineering activity plan is delivered to the satisfaction of production.- Ensuring that the correct resources are in place to deliver the daily and next day plans.- Ensuring that both chronic and repeat downtime events are rigorously assessed for true root cause.- Ensuring that the site is always ready for internal and external food safety audits (e.g. BRC)- Ensuring that the site is always ready for internal and external legal compliance audits (e.g. HSE)- Ensuring department KPIs and targets are delivered on time and in full.- Ensuring value for money from the way in which engineering funds are spent.- Driving proactive continuous improvement activities including energy saving solutions.- Collaborating with production and technical colleagues to foster continuous improvement activity.THE CANDIDATETo be considered for the role of Maintenance Team Leader, you will need:- Technical Hands-On Engineering Experience, preferably through recognised time-served apprenticeship within food manufacturing.- Technical qualifications in either mechanical or electrical at a minimum NVQ Level 3.- Broad Knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical, Electrical & PLC/Inverter Assets.- Experience of directly managing engineering activities over at least a 3-year period.- Specific experience of prioritising resources in a busy environment and delivering the plan.- Proven ability to get the best from a diverse team through a calm and clear approach.- Ability to engage positively with production and cleaning teams to ensure equipment release for maintenance.- Strong experience in managing safe working and ensuring safe systems of work are followed.- Experience of risk assessing maintenance activity and controlling safe working practices.- Experience and knowledge of Lean and Asset Care Excellence techniques - particularly root cause.- Experience and examples of structuring technical skill development within internal teams.TO APPLYIf you feel you are well suited to the role of Maintenance Team Leader, please click on the APPLY button and forward your most up to date CV for consideration.
