  • An Ofsted Good school in Chorley, are looking for a Learning Mentor with a behavioural support background to assist pupils with different needs; behavioural issues and ASD in a 1-1 capacity and within small groups in KS1 and KS2.This position is open to experienced, Learning Mentors or those with experience in similar areas, where you have gained transferable skills. You would need to have experience working with children or young people in a formal capacity. You will need to have a strong understanding of supporting children and young people.The successful candidate will work closely with staff and children to provide high quality in-class support, as well as leading targeted interventions and support for pupils. The class teacher will provide resources but would welcome ideas and resources that are targeting the pupils at the same level. The ideal candidate for this role will have had a minimum of 6 months experience working with pupils who have very complex social, emotional and mental health needs. The school have a strong SLT team and always happy to help develop staff that go in on supply. You will be working closely with outside authorities, parents and other staff members such as SLT and class teachers. Communication skills will be vital in this roles.
