Job Description

    • A school in Ashton-Under-Lyne is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join the support staff team.Requirements for this position:
  • Educated to degree level as a minimum requirement OR hold Teaching Assistant qualifications.
  • Prior experience working with children, ideally having worked with children with SEN.
  • Keen interest in supporting children’s learning, progression and development.
    • The role will involve:
  • Providing consistent 1:1 support for students with a range of individual needs.
  • Developing student confidence, ensuring that students are able to progress at the expected rate.
  • Looking to directly enhance academic attainment, as well as applying relevant behaviour policies when necessary.
  • Applying school policies, ensuring students are adhering to school procedures at all times.
  • Looking to ensure that students maintain engagement at all times.
  • Providing pastoral support at all times, working with students who may display more complex behaviours.
    • Pay: The hourly rate for this role will range between £10 and £15, dependent on previous experience. The role will begin after the summer holidays, in the new academic year in September.The school expects the applicant to be able to work with students with SEN, includin those with Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Mobility issues and Sensory issues.The school:
  • Located in Tameside, the school is easily accessible from Manchester city centre.
