Job Description

Three positions are currently available. Salary: £31.5k - £33.5k per annum (Dependent on location)Reference: REQ3603Do you want to be a part of an innovative and supportive team, where there are great opportunities for career progression and developmentAs a Pipelines Craftsperson you will understand the importance of corrosion control, condition assessment and maintenance on our high-pressure steel pipeline networks. You will work closely with other department within SGN and third parties which includesother utilities.What will you be doing day to day

  • As a Pipelines Craftsperson you will understand the importance of corrosion control, condition assessment and maintenance on our high-pressure steel pipeline networks.
  • Assessing the pipelines condition
  • Preventing damage by third party activities
  • Keeping the pipeline safe
  • Regularly surveying the pipeline network
  • Undertaking both routine and non-routine maintenance and project activities
What you’ll needYou will need to have enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, with a logical approach to fault finding and problem solving. We’re looking for highly motivated individuals who are well organised and able to work to deadlines and targets.A relevant technical, practical aptitude is desirable, along with IT literacy and a responsible approach to Health and Safety. Good communication is also important in order to work effectively on SGN’s behalf. You will have a good standard of high schooleducation (GCSE and or A levels) in subjects such as Maths, English and Science, this is a training opportunity, and you will be enrolled on a NVQ Level 3 program. During your program you will be required to complete a written portfolio as well as attendinga number of role relevant external training sessions over the specified program.Please note this role also requires a full driving license. We will accept applications from those currently learning to drive who have an intension to obtain a license early within the training program.If you don’t have all the qualifications, we would still love to hear from you… we provide our own specialised learning and development programs, providing access to learning tools to help you acquire the skills needed to excel in our environment.
