Job Description

Start Date: Sept 2020Pay: KR5 £19335.00 (FTE)Finberry Primary School are looking for a Parent Support Advisor to support its growing school community. Finberry is on the journey to outstanding and this is a great time to join the fantastic team there!The PSA being a front of house role, will be expected to work as part of the front office and in collaboration with other staff members. You will form an integral part of the school team, one in which you can make a real difference to the lives of our children and families. We are looking for someone flexible, with a can-do attitude and a willingness to pitch-in, going above and beyond when necessary to support both our children and families as well as colleagues.The successful candidate will require relevant experience of working with families, including parents, pupils, professionals and agencies. It would be desirable to have knowledge of inter-agency provision that support schools and families. The candidate should be able to work in a collaborative way, with the Head teacher and and other school staff, to manage the diverse needs of pupils and families.We are looking for a candidate who has exceptional inter-personal skills, communications skills and an understanding of the needs or children and young people. We need someone diligent, organised and efficient as it is essential that an effective record keeping system is maintained and accurate records are kept. Training will be provided to support where required. The successful candidate will also be open to supporting the wider Trust hub (another of our schools within the Ashford area so a driving license and own transport is necessary)This position is 22.5 hours per week, initially working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please note these days may be subject to change in the future based on the needs of the school.Closing Date: 24/08/2020 at 10:00Interviews: September - TBCInformation about the schoolFinberry Primary School opened in September 2015 in temporary accommodation in Jemmett Road, Ashford and has since moved into a state of the art building, in the newly developed Finberry Village near Kingswood, Ashford.Built to serve the needs of a growing community, the school is currently being expanded in a second phase of construction to provide a building that can support a two form entry school of 420 pupils.The school also hosts a small specialist resource base provision for pupils who have greater difficulty learning as a result of Behavioural, Emotional and Social Needs. The base will include provision for up to 14 pupils. A Nursery is also available to local children, run by the school.The school was inspected by Ofsted in September 2018 and was judged to be Good.Finberry Primary School is part of The Stour Academy Trust, a highly successful primary only multi-academy trust. Working in a collaborative model, Finberry is part of the Ashford Hub of the Trust, along with Chilmington Green Primary.
