Company DescriptionJob DescriptionBrakes are now recruiting for aCategory Managerto join us on a full time, permanent basis in our Impulse Team. This role will develop & deliver a category plan that supports the category role and delivers the in-year margin budget (e.g., range managementincluding NPD; promotions; cross sell; direct to customer & pricing). Delivering brilliant category insight of total performance as well as designing and leading the strategy. A great role for an experienced Category Manager who is data driven and can spotnew opportunities across product ranges.This role is being offered on an home-based contract, however occasional travel to the Ashford, Kent office will be required for monthly team meetings.Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Using customer, market & supplier insight and category performance analysis, lead the wider category team to create a category strategy to meet in year sales & cash margin targets, in line with the specific category role (drive, core or complimentary)
  • Review & analyse category performance to identify profitability growth opportunities and trends that can be presented back to the board
  • Hit in year category cash margin growth targets (including NPD, promotions, cross sell, direct to customer, promotions)
  • Own the full product life cycle, understanding and implementing the range management process to ensure relevance on offer, whilst working within a sku budget
  • Completely own & deliver all in year deliverables across the marketing mix
    • Product: range plan & NPD (within a SKU count budget),
    • Promotions (including telesales activity),
    • Place: direct to customer activity, digital marketing and cross sell within our national and independent customer base
    • Price: intelligent pricing recommendations, through competitor analysis and market relevance.
  • Manage own brand range plan, considering all aspects of product tiering and external branded offer.
  • Support delivery of wider business priorities, as driven by Category Director
  • Develop strategic relationships with category partner suppliers, to drive growth and support margin investment opportunities
  • Manage customer facing element of product data (Assure, e-list), ensuring consistency of brand voice
  • Support the businesses sustainability messages and Improve supplier and product NPS scores
About you:You’ll have experience using consumer insights, competitive assessment, pricing, promotional planning and financial analysis in a developed Category Manager role. We are looking for someone who is confident in their decision making and has a good understandingof reviewing profitability across all ranges. An analytical thinker with good commercial and business acumen is required. The successful candidate will enjoy working closely with and developing customer relationships as well as internal stakeholders acrossall levels. You will have the confidence to present back valuable insight with the ability to positively influence across a wide network of functions. A professional qualification in Category Management or Merchandising is desirable.What you’ll receive:
