We’re a newly formed team within a growing company and are looking for a new Buyer to join us.Buyer Responsibilities:You’ll be working as part of a small, friendly team and be responsible for negotiating both short-term and long-term purchasing agreements with suppliers. As part of your role you’ll monitor and report on both industry and company performance whilst identifying trends for your specified product range.Working to set profit, service and stock KPIs you’ll also be expected to seek out areas of opportunity through our supplier base to take the company forward and align to growth expectations. Building and maintaining strong business relationships is key as this will enable you to comfortably manage relationships and negotiate with suppliers.We’ll also ask you to supervise and develop a Buying Assistant, to ensure they develop the right skills and capabilities to eventually step up into a Buyer position. This offers a great chance for you to also develop your own personal skills around coaching others.This is a fast paced environment where you’ll be expected to be able to plan ahead and multi-task efficiently whilst also dealing with unexpected challenges.Buyer Requirements:- Purchasing experience, ideally gained within a Pharmaceutical environment.- Experience of supplier relationship management.- Commercially minded with strong negotiation skills.- Results driven.- Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.- Ability to work as part of a small team and thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Package, with advanced knowledge of Excel.- Proven ability to achieve stretching targets.- Strong analytical skills with ability to create detailed reports.- Supervisory/coaching experience is highly desirable.Please note we will assess your Excel knowledge at interview.About Axis Medicare:Axis Medicare was established in 1986 as a supplier of pharmaceutical products.
