Job Description

An outstanding opportunity to join a world leading organisation on the outskirts of Ashby de la Zouch as a Technical Support Engineer on a full time, permanent basis!Our prestigious client is looking for a highly motivated Technical Support Engineer who will work toachieve a thorough understanding of all company product divisions, typical applications, customer requirements and production processes whilst balancing the commercial needs of the business.The Technical Support Engineer will offer customer support as part of the Technical Support Team, covering a wide range of technical problems and requirements, often summarising with product suggestions.Main Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Technical Support Team in answering technical enquiries speaking directly with the Global Sales Team and end users.
  • To work as part of a team, managing the enquiries in a group technical support mailbox.
  • To ask appropriate questions and extract the information required from application details in order to provide answers in a timely manner, either by phone or email.
  • To conduct research, where necessary, to understand the end application and put the information into context.
  • To communicate with the R&D team, gathering additional data when available.
  • To manage multiple pieces of information and data and construct answers for others, putting technical information into an understandable and easily read format.
  • To assist Sales and Marketing departments with various documents and information, including writing technical support documents, article reviews, social media contributions, etc.
  • To carry out various administration tasks, including the management of Technical Data Sheets and Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • To work on enquiries and internal projects related to various legislative requirements, including but not limited to RoHS, REACH, H&S, GHS and CLP.
  • To offer technical training on the product range, including giving presentations and demonstrations of product use.
  • To visit key customers with the relevant members of the Global Sales Team to gain knowledge and to help understand customer requirements within the technical support role.
  • To carry out simple tasks in the laboratory, such as analyse or inspect samples, process simple product applications, etc.
  • The successful applicant will have a Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry/Organic-Polymer/Applied and previous experience within a similar position. Other skills include excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and a practical approach to their work.In return, a salary of up to £25,000 is offered working Monday to Friday 8.30-5pm. 28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), Pension scheme and Life Assurance.Please apply online Required skills
