Job Description

Site Engineering ManagerAshby (Home of Hula Hoops, Space Raiders, popchips and more…)As our Site Engineering Manager you’ll be the Head of Department for all engineering and maintenance activity as a support to the operations function on site. You’ll be responsible for the control of all maintenance costs, legislative compliance and development of ongoing maintenance strategies. You’ll also be responsible for delivery of the site Capital projects program.Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic direction for maintenance activity on site.
  • Sets the standard for all engineering / maintenance activities carried out.
  • Control of maintenance costs : labour and R&M spend for site buildings, infrastructure, utilities and equipment
  • Accountability for engineering downtime issues
  • Development of team capability, comms framework, shift skills balance and pipeline fill
  • Legislative compliance e.g. electrical policy, pressure vessels, P.T.W, etc.
  • Control of site stores and technical purchasing
  • Key contact for delivery of annual site capital spend
  • Site engineering pay awards / engineering union interaction
    • A bit about the Ashby site:Size - Employs around 500 people, is 54,000m² and operates 24/5History- First opened in 1948 as a crisp factory for Meredith & Drew. Started extrusion and pellet frying in 1970. Hula Hoops moved to Ashby in 1995Products - As well as Hula Hoops, a range of other pellet and extruded snacks including Skips, Space Raiders and Nik NaksKey stats - Produces 110 tonnes of finished products every day on 10 production lines including 3 million packs of Hula Hoops and 1 million packs of Skips!The award-winning culture at KP Snacks is friendly, welcoming and supportive.
