Job Description

The Team & Focus of the RoleWe are looking for a passionate communicator or marketer who understands the important role employee experience and engagement plays in driving business performance.As part of our small but ambitious communications team, your focus will be on understanding what makes our colleagues tick and bringing their stories to life. You will take responsibility for the content and management of our intranet, get involved in internalevents and engagement initiatives, and support the Senior Communications Manager in improving our communication channels to meet business needs as we continue to grow.With 25 offices across the UK, you will need a good grasp of multi-site communication techniques, a willing to get involved in a wide variety of projects and great stakeholder management skills to build relationships with our 650+ colleagues.If you are a hard worker, team player and a stickler for excellent grammar, this could be the perfect role for you!Duties will include:

  • Creating a schedule of relevant and readable (or watchable!) content for our intranet that promotes our vision and values and captures the stories of our colleagues.
  • Creating and distributing our weekly e-newsletter, with the opportunity to get involved in the launch of a new email system and redesign within your first few months.
  • Carrying out research and networking with other communication professionals to keep pace with best practice and identify new channels / approaches.
  • Working closely with the Senior Communications Manager and business leaders to create a consistent approach to employee communication across divisions and departments.
  • Delivering exceptional project communication through a clear understanding of project requirements and stakeholder needs.
  • Working with colleagues across the business to create employee surveys and report back on the results of these. You may also be asked to support with the creation and analysis of our annual colleague survey and quarterly pulse surveys.
  • Supporting the business in the creation of quality documentation and guides which improve colleagues understanding of our business structure and processes.
  • Demonstrating best practice communications and helping others in the business to improve their delivery of internal communication.
  • Oversee the delivery of internal communication and engagement initiatives including our Business Blend colleague networking initiative.
  • Working with the wider Communications Team on the delivery of internal events including our bi-annual Big Event and biennial CPD days.
  • Travel to our Ashby & Worcester offices will be required.
The successful candidate will have...
  • A minimum 2 years experience in an internal communication role or similar. A relevant communications or marketing qualification is preferable but not necessary.
  • Experience in filming and editing vlogs and videos - or a real eagerness to learn quickly on the job.
  • Experience working with intranets and good overall technical knowledge including, ideally, a basic knowledge of HTML.
  • A passion for excellent communication and engagement, with an eagerness to test new things and continually improve.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent MS office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using the Adobe suite - InDesign, Photoshop and preferably Premiere Pro or Rush.
  • An eagerness to get involved in a variety of projects.
  • At a minimum you must be able to demonstrate a high standard of written English with a minimum B at A-level or equivalent qualification in a written subject (ie English, History, Sociology, Law etc).
Experience within a professional services environment would be helpful but is not essential.Interested in sustainability and supporting local communities There is also scope in this role to get involved in our Environmental, Social & Governance project team giving you the chance to support our fundraising initiatives and become a more sustainablyfocused business.
